To provide consistency of inspections and enforcement of the adopted New Mexico Building Codes in the southern half of the State. And to provide education to Building Officials as well as Contractors and Architects with the latest revisions of construction methods and materials. The main purpose of the Code is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life, health, property and public welfare by controlling, design, construction, use and occupancy of all buildings within this jurisdiction.

SNMBOA in a non-profit corporation. It has been filed and licensed with the State of New Mexico. Membership dues are $30.00 yearly. Renewals are due July 1st.
Members are mostly state and local construction inspectors, that cover all aspects, structural, electrical, plumbing. Many are contractors, architects, and engineers that are interested in building code application and upgrades. Architects can receive HSW/CEU credits! Anyone interested in the construction industry is welcome to join or to attend any of the meetings.
SNMBOA meets every other month, at locations in the southern part of the state, mostly in Ruidoso, because of its central location. Meetings are held in two sessions. The morning session, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, usually covers code questions and certified training where you can earn LUs or CEUs. The afternoon session, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm covers SNMBOA business. With registration fee of $15.00, lunch is usually provided.
